Les amis de Sally la salamandre - the forest of discoveries
Les Amis de Sally is a non-profit association governed under the French law of July 1st 1901. Created on October 28th 2020 at Eymet in the Périgord, the association's purpose is "the discovery, the construction, the sharing, the dissemination of knowledge and fun and cultural activities for all, in a natural environment."
Inspired in part by the principles of "forest schools", around a small round house and other rustic installations in the heart of nature, our association is open to all and offers a variety of activities according to the seasons and the desires of each, among others the discovery of natural environments, gardening workshops and various crafts, writing and reading activities etc. Given that the main object of our association is the "sharing of knowledge", do not hesitate to contact us if you wish to propose a workshop or activity.
Why Sally the Salamander? Our association is located in a "wild" forest in the south of Périgord, a forest that we have the chance to share with a great population of fire Salamanders, Salamandra salamandra, a species protected in France and unfortunately in constant decline. Our wish is not only to get to know these animals better, but also to learn how to organise our daily activities whilst also protecting their environment.
